Why I’ve Rebranded From General Resume Services to Nicole Jessica Coggan
If you’ve been around for a while you might have noticed the recent rebrand that I’ve been focusing on. When I first started General Resume Services I could not for the life of me figure out a name so I used the first thing that popped into my head (General Resume Services). It’s a great name for search engine optimization and tells you straight away what I’m about but it lacked personality (for me anyway). The same could be said for my website which although it had all the key elements (services, testimonials, contact form) was pretty generic with no personality either.
Over the past few months I’ve really wanted a more personal connection with my customers and to be honest I’m totally over making my website and copy looking like a carbon copy of every other resume service out there. I write all my resumes myself so I should be myself online as well. That’s the number one reason I’ve started the new site complete with regular blog posts (I aim for 5 per week, but it doesn’t always happen). It’s also why you have started to receive regular emails from me once per week. I don’t want to be a multi-national company, I just want to be me and help you solve your employment related issues at the same time.
I also have an online training course that will soon be released focusing on resume writing, interviews and getting the job you love so it makes sense to move away from the resume service only tag and focus on more mainstream employment services and of course I still write selection criteria which doesn’t necessarily meet the ‘resume service’ tag.
Although the new resume is up and running, it still has a long way to go as far as graphics and layout goes but at least I finally get to write what I want instead of what everyone else is doing. Thanks for sticking around for the journey so far and keep an eye out for the training course coming your way soon.
