Reaching out to a potential employer about your application scaring you? I've got you covered with these basic scripts. Suitable for both jobs that were advertised and jobs that you expressed a letter of interest in.
Follow Up Script
“Hello, this is_________________, may I speak to _____________ about an application I submitted earlier this week please”?
“Hi _________, this is ____________. I mailed you out a copy of my resume along with a letter expressing my interest in working for your company last week and I just wanted to check that you received it?
Would we be able to arrange five minutes of your time to meet in person and go over what I can offer ?
Thanks so much for taking the time to speak to me today. I look forward to meeting with you”.
If they say they can’t meet with you:
“No problem, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you change your mind or have any further questions about my application”.
See? Super simple. You don't need to overcomplicate it!
