Change Management and Continuous Improvement Selection Criteria Examples

Updated: Aug 13

To write continuous improvement selection criteria, use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). Highlight your experience in identifying areas for improvement, implementing changes, and measuring outcomes. Provide specific examples where your initiatives led to enhanced efficiency, cost savings, or better quality. Emphasise your problem-solving skills, proactive approach, and commitment to ongoing improvement.

Need to address change management or continuous improvement selection criteria? Here are some real-life examples to get you started.

Extensive experience managing and leading teams remotely through periods of change.

One of the most significant challenges I faced in team management occurred during integrating the Australian Amalgamated Group into Work Ways in 2017. This meant blending two teams within the ACT. My role was to facilitate this transition and ensure cohesion. This was a significant cultural change for the team at AHG under my leadership. The primary issue was navigating the change management process over 18 months.

This involved policy revisions, developing new protocols, and consulting with staff to navigate role transitions. I held regular team meetings to provide updates on the merger process and address any concerns raised by staff.

Additionally, I organised larger team gatherings to facilitate relationship-building among team members. I also facilitated cross-visits between managers from different parts of the organisation to promote understanding.  As a result, turnover of key staff was minimised, and the ACT business saw growth, with successful implementation in the Eurobodalla region.

Continuous Improvement Selection Criteria Example:

As Manager of ACT Care, I resolved an issue related to our residential programs. I noticed a gap in maintaining consistency when staff members transitioned cases during leave. This inconsistency sometimes made tasks slip through the cracks, impacting client care. I took the initiative to develop a comprehensive client flow journey process.

This process aimed to streamline communication, ensuring all client-related tasks were completed within required timeframes, even during staff transitions. Implementing this process improved compliance rates, with program compliance reaching around 98%, surpassing the target of 90%. This led to adopting the process across various mental health programs, enhancing organisation-wide efficiency.
